What Is a Certified Translation?
A certified translation is a translation that an experienced professional translator has certified as a correct translation of the original, stamped or signed by the translator or translation business and, where possible, presented on the business's official letterhead. Immigration New Zealand accepts translations from professional translation businesses and the Department of Internal Affairs Translation Service.
Certified translations are commonly required by New Zealand government agencies, Immigration New Zealand, educational institutions, professional bodies and overseas organisations when documents are not written in English.
A certified translation confirms that the translated document accurately represents the original document.
